Russia or the Russian Federation, is a country spanning Eastern Europe and Northern Asia. It is the largest country in the world by area, extends across eleven time zones, and shares land boundaries with fourteen countries. It is the world’s ninth-most populous country and Europe’s most populous country. The country’s capital and largest city is Moscow. Saint Petersburg is Russia’s cultural center and second-largest city. Other major urban areas in the country include Novosibirsk, Yekaterinburg, Nizhny Novgorod, Chelyabinsk, Krasnoyarsk, and Kazan.

Tour toOstankino TV tower – the main television and radio tower of Moscow and Russia. 540.1 meters tall it is currently the tallest freestanding structure in Europe and eighth tallest in the world. At the time of its construction in 1967 it was a masterpiece of Soviet engineering and became the tallest free-standing structure in the world. It held this record for 9 years until the CN Tower was completed in Toronto in 1976. The Ostankino Tower remained the second-tallest structure in the world for another 31 years until the Burj Khalifa was created in 2007.
